For many years there has been a folk club in Mansfield at the Brown Cow pub. Every Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Doors open 8:00 p.m.

Generally this is either an open singers' night or a guest night, alternating each week, but it does vary. A "Feature" night gives the artist a fuller performance opportunity than is possible on a busy singers night.

There is a break halfway through the evening for a buffet (included in admission fee) and a raffle.

All Singers' Nights and Feature Nights £1 admission
Singers’ nights: all singers and musicians welcome.
Feature nights: 2 short spots from featured artist + floor singers.
Guest nights: £2 unless stated otherwise.

OPEN MIC NIGHT

Starting on February 11th 2010, there will be an Open Mic Night, run by Neil and Julie Smith, on the second Thursday of each month.

This will be held in the large downstairs room. The initial aim will be to offer about 15 minutes for each spot, depending on numbers.

The P.A. will include the following:
8 channel desk, 2 vocal mics, 1 instrument mic (mandolin, fiddle etc.), 1 xlr line input (acoustic guitar, acoustic bass etc.), 2 stereo / mono jack line inputs (electronic accordion, keyboard, rhythm box, acoustic guitar etc.), 2 monitors.

No backline so electric guitar or electric bass will need their own amplifier with line output but drum kits cannot be catered for.

Please come along, whether to listen or to perform. All welcome!
